About Us

SMA Construction Services was founded in 2018 by Managing Director, Stuart Amos.

Having been involved in the construction industry since his early teens and spending over 20 years in senior management positions, Stuart was becoming disillusioned with the direction in which the construction industry is now moving.  No longer is the focus on producing a quality product to Client’s expectations at an agreed cost.

Here at SMA Construction Services we do things just a little differently.  Representing our Client’s interests is our main focus and so we offer genuine advise on design and costings.  We treat every project as if it were our own and leave no stone unturned to ensure complete client satisfaction.

All designs are purified through in-depth design co-ordination meetings prior to bills of quantities being produced and drawings and specifications being sent out for pricing.  This ensures cost certainty and a design that works prior to the appointment of a Principal Contractor and site commencement.

Throughout the Construction phase of the project we offer a comprehensive project management service from construction professionals who genuinely know how to build things.  We do not just appear on site for monthly meetings and have a quick walk round with no idea of what is right and what is wrong.

Overseeing the project to ensure quality, programme and costs are strictly adhered to by the Principal Contractor is our goal. SMA Construction Services is the place to go for complete Client satisfaction.

Meet Our Team

At SMA Construction Services we have a small professional team.

Stuart Amos
Managing Director

Stuart has over 40 years' experience in the construction industry, starting his career in construction learning to dry stone dyke at the tender age of 12. He then served his time as a stonemason. Over the years, Stuart worked his way through the ranks within the industry, finally becoming a Construction Director. Stuart comes from two of the largest privately owned construction companies in Scotland – Muir Construction and Ogilvie Construction.

Stuart is well liked and respected by Clients for his enthusiasm, honesty, in-depth construction knowledge and 'can do' attitude.

Stuart is now using his knowledge and experience to advise Clients and deliver projects to exceptional standards, utilising his unique in-depth understanding of the industry.

 He is also a member of the Association of Project Supervisors

Nicola Campbell
Operations Manager

Nicola has been involved in the construction industry from a young age after leaving university and finding an administrative position with Muir Construction. Whilst working full time, Nicola completed an HR qualification and became a member of the CIPD. She decided to pursue a career where she could utilise this qualification. 

Nicola left Muir to work for a Recruitment Company, where she specialised in construction recruitment, in turn advancing her knowledge of the industry even further.

Nicola is now with SMA Construction Services as Operations Manager. She deals with our Accounts, HR and Personnel, Marketing, Business Development and Administration on a day to day basis.


Yusaf Mohammed
Commercial Manager

Yusaf has had an interest and passion for the construction industry from a young age, initially gained by helping on local community projects. 

This interest led him to choose to study and graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying from one the country’s top universities within this subject.

Yusaf’s eye for detail and friendly approach make him a hit with both Clients and Sub-Contractors alike.

 Yusaf is enjoying putting his knowledge and skills to use at SMA Construction Services and supporting a firm which helps him ensure client’s receive correct advice and value for money.
